August 1996 - Ground Floor

One of the major jobs completed in August 1996 was the tiling of the lounge.

This room has a huge floor area (42m²) which required the laying of more than 470 tiles and it took a big effort from the whole team to get all the tiles layed and grouted.

The picture on the left shows some of the boxes of tiles and sacks of adhesive powder that were to be used and on the right is tiling in progress.

The result, however, was worth it and we now have a good looking, hardwearing and easy to clean floor. Ideal for a holiday home.

The shower room and toilet became our first finished rooms (well, they are the smallest!). We completed tiling the shower cubicle, tiled the floors and painted both rooms.

On the other hand, all that changed in the kitchen was the addition of a bottled gas cooker but this was a big improvement over the camping stove.
