The shower room was a major area of work during May 1996.

Apart from plumbing hot and cold water to the handbasin and shower, we fitted a shower door unit purchased at the local DIY store in Gorron and began tiling the shower area. |
| The stone
sink which we found dumped in the middle of the lounge
was installed in the utility room and hot and cold water
plumbed to it. We were lucky to find an existing waste pipe in this area which we could join in to. |

If you would like a reminder of how these areas looked before we started, just point at either of these two images. |
One extremely dirt job was the removal of the false ceiling in the lounge. It was full of years worth of accumulated dust and straw bits (presumably stored in the loft in days gone by) which had fallen through the cracks in the floor above.

The result however was to reveal the numerous, rather grimy, cross beams which (we hoped) had the potential to be an excellent 'feature'. | ![]() |
All the other rooms were given a general cleanup to remove accumulated dust, cobwebs and general debris.

This is the extent of the 'fitted' kitchen as we left it in May 1996. Just two dexion racks!
Some major work went on upstairs
too ... ![]()
