| January 12th |
| This
is the day we completed the purchase of La
Martiniere. The pictures on this page show the
state of the property at that time. When looking
at these pictures you should bear in mind that
this was one of the least run down properties
that we looked at. |
|
| Spring |
| Before
we could start work on the house ourselves, there
were some improvements needed to the basic
structure and services. For these we employed
local French artisans. You can see the results of
their work on this page. |
|
| May |
| For
10 days in May, John and I lived like gypsies and
worked like trojans to make some basic
improvements to the facilities so that the rest
of the family members could live in reasonable
comfort during their first visit in August. |
|
| August |
| The
first vist by all eight of us saw everybody
working hard to improve our living conditions and
things moved on apace. |
|
| September |
| A
brief boys only weekend to deliver a van load of
goodies. |
|
| October |
| The
final visit during our first year of ownership.
Time to close up for the winter. |
